Hi to all! I wrote this blog simply because I recently tested this Mini ELM327 V1.5 OBD2 Bluetooth diagnostic scanner OK to read and clear DTC fault codes for my Mercedes w221! Below I will show you how I did that.
Two things you first know:
- This Mini ELM327 V1.5 is a 16 pin OBD2 connector. So I plugged it into my car’s OBD2 port then turn ignition on.
- It is compatible with Torque Pro. So I downloaded the app before use it.
- Now I will show you how I read& clear W221 fault codes.
First, I go to Setting then click Bluetooth, search and find ELM327 Bluetooth named “OBDII”. It asks me to enter pairing password and says I can try 0000 or 1234. I input 1234 and pairing successful.
- Now I open Torque Pro. It asks me to enable GPS but I choose no. Whatever…
I click Fault Codes icon and this Super Mini ELM327 start to read DTC codes automatically.
Soon I get 3 fault codes as follows: P0303, P0302 and P0300
It tells me to press Menu icon on top right corner. I click Clear Faults on ECU and it starts to clear all fault codes for my w221.
All fault codes are cleared fast!
And to check if it really clear all codes I back to main menu and choose to hit Adapter Status icon.
It shows me 0 errors, 0 other faults that means I successfully use this ELM327 V1.5 Bluetooth scanner to read then clear all my w221 DTC codes!
By the way, I bought this $8 little plug-in scanner just for fun but I must say is worth every penny! I haven’t tested it on other cars, but at least my w221 bimmer works well!
